Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year! Every year I am eager to meet the new 1st graders, and this year is no exception!

I thought I would tell you a little bit about myself, so that you know who your teacher is and what makes me…!

I was born in Alaska, and moved to Alabama when I was two years old due to my dad being active military.  When my dad retired from the military, my family decided to settle in Enterprise. I attended Rucker Boulevard from third grade to sixth grade and graduated from Enterprise High School in 2002. After college, I attended Troy University and graduated with honors in 2006.  In addition to earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, I also earned a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education, and became a certified Math Trainer for AMSTI.

My husband is from Geneva, and we have been married for nine years.  We have two daughters named Emma Rose and Jenna Grace.  Emma Rose is our eight-year-old daughter and will be in the third grade here at HES.  Jenna Grace is our energetic daughter who keeps us on our toes, and will turn three at the end of September.  My family loves to travel and play outside. In fact, you might see us a lot at the Johnny Henderson Park as Emma Rose plays softball year round.

Teaching is my passion and I love what I do.  Nothing is more exciting to me than watching a student light up when he/she understands what we are doing in class.  I’m a strong believer in communication between school and home. If you ever have a question or concern, please don’t hesitate to contact me.  ( or leave a message at the front office).

I’m looking forward to a great year getting to know each other, learning, and having fun doing it. Let me end this letter by saying, “Roll Tide!”
