I grew up in Lake City, Florida and went to Troy University on a full academic scholarship.  I majored in Chemistry while I was there with plans to attend pharmacy school.  Instead, I married my husband of 10 years and inherited 3 beautiful step-daughters.  My husband is a pilot in the United States Army and therefore, I have followed him around the world (and would not change a moment of it!).

I tasted my first bit of love for education while working as an aide in a 4th grade classroom.  I fell in love with the kids and the job and began pursuing my teaching license for the state of Texas.  I received in it 2011 while teaching math to 6th graders in Copperas Cove, TX.  Since then, I have moved around the world and back again, spending 3 1/2 years in South Korea.  We are hoping to retire here in the Geneva area within the next few years.

This will be my third year at Hillcrest Elementary, where I believe I have found my forever home for teaching!  I am excited to start a new year and I look forward to what it has to offer!
