A Warm Hello to You!

I grew up in Lilburn, Georgia (a suburb of Atlanta) the youngest of three girls. My dad, Clyde, worked with IBM for 42 years. My mom, Jane, had a successful home business. One of my sisters, Katy, went to Heaven in 2008 at age 38 from cancer. She and her husband, Tim, had 2 daughters, my beautiful nieces: Ashley & Shannon. My other sister, Jennifer, is married to Lyle and they live in Jachin, Alabama.

My Dad has advanced Parkinson's Disease and my Mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer's.  I have many responsibilities I never thought I'd have, but with God's help and a lot of prayer, I do my very best to care for them in any way I can. They both reside in an Assisted Living Facility in Tucker, GA. My family visits them as often as possible.

Growing up, I was a very dedicated, competitive, year-round swimmer. I swam for the Swim Atlanta club team and starting swimming when I was 4 years old. My favorite stroke is butterfly. I loved being a lifeguard and swim coach during my high school and college years.

My husband, Rob, and I met while at Auburn University. We've been married since December 2002. He is a native of Enterprise, attended Hillcrest Elementary and graduated from EHS in 1994. Rob is a Fisheries Biologist and works for The Alabama Department of Conservation & Natural Resources. We have three precious children: Graham, Avery & Ellie. We are members of First Baptist Church Enterprise. My family really enjoys spending time together! We love traveling and RV camping, playing board games, cooking together, fishing, boating, tubing, swimming, bike riding & exploring.

I was a stay-at-home Mom for 5 wonderful years and I cherished every moment of it, but I'm happy to return to the classroom! I was in Odyssey of the Mind in elementary school and identified gifted in the area of creativity. I'm an "out of the box" thinker and I encourage students to "THiNK DiFFeReNTLY" about the world around them. I love teaching Gifted students and I'm honored to be a part of Hillcrest Elementary School and the Enterprise City School System!
