I am a graduate of Western Oregon University.  GO WOLVES!  I hold a Bachelor's of Science with two authorization levels in the areas of Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education.  I also obtained a Master's of Science in 2001, with an endorsement in the area of English to Speakers of Other Languages(ESOL).  I hold current teaching licenses in Alabama, New York, Missouri and Oregon.

My 12 year teaching career has carried me across the United States, from Oregon to New York. I have had the privilege of working in various states including:  Oregon, Alabama, New York and Missouri.  I was very fortunate to teach first grade in all of these states, with the exception of Missouri(I was Waynesville, MO school district's only ELL instructor).  I am delighted to be back in "Alabama the Beautiful," and back to teaching first grade!

My name is Maria Wolfe and I can't express the excitement that I am feeling to be starting the 2017-2018 school year at Hillcrest Elementary!

After eleven years in the active military, my husband and I decided to settle down in Enterprise, AL to raise our family.  We have two handsome little boys, Rudy and Jackson.  They sure do keep us busy!  Jackson is 8 years old and is thrilled to be starting third grade at Hillcrest Elementary!  He enjoys reading, playing basketball, playing baseball & making new friends.  Rudy is 6 years old and never stops moving!  He will be starting first grade at HES this year! Rudy loves dancing, socializing and making people laugh! I am beyond blessed to finally have both of my boys at HILLCREST!!

My husband and I are originally from the small town of Hermiston, Oregon.  Hermiston is known for producing the BEST tasting watermelon in the state!  We are high school sweethearts and were married July 15, 2000.  We have been married for 17 years.
