Accelerated Reader (AR), the Accelerated Reader program is a computerized program that tests reading comprehension. Students select books on their reading level, read independently, and take an independent comprehension test on the computer. Each book is worth a certain number of points based on its length and reading level.

AR's advanced technology helps you:

  • Make essential reading practice more effective for every student.
  • Personalize reading practice to each student's current level.
  • Assess students' through Reading Practice quizzes.
  • Build a lifelong love of reading and learning.

Parents keep track of your student's progress!

If you'd like to receive emails showing your student's quiz or test results, click the Email Setup link in Renaissance Home Connect and follow the directions. To be sure these emails reach your inbox, add to your address book.

To attend an AR celebration students must meet 100% of his/her AR goal for that nine weeks, and have 85% comprehension score or higher.
